IMPORTATION

For customs clearance or tax exemption of the shipment, we must have the original documents. Agent should clearly indicate the number of pieces and EXACT NET weight of shipment on bill of landing when send loose pack in a container. This is very important; do not indicate an estimated weight since this will cause delays and a fine.

We will bill shipper for any costs due to delays for incomplete or incorrect document presentation.

Duties on used household goods are based on CIF value. Upon arrival in Costa Rica, shipper must estimate value of each item in his shipment for customs clearance. On any new articles, he will be asked to submit a purchase invoiceWe recommend you to indicate clearly in the inventory brand, model and serial number for each electric appliance

A new government regulation requires that imported, used cars remain at port of entry (Limon or Caldera) for customs formalities. Household goods can be transported to the customs bonded warehouse in San Jose for clearance

We recommend you do not include food or alcoholic beverages with the household goods shipment.

EXPORTATION
